2023 Summer Lecture Series: Garrett Ricciardi

UCLA Architecture and Urban Design is pleased to host its two Summer Programs (JumpStart and TeenArch) and its Summer Lecture Series this July, with Garrett Ricciardi presenting on Monday, July 10. Join us in Perloff Decafe or via Zoom.

A lecturer at AUD, Ricciardi co-founded Formlessfinder as an interdisciplinary practice for design, research, and writing. Drawing from the disciplines of architecture, art and engineering – they are focused on rethinking our built environment’s relationship to raw materials, natural resources, infrastructure and new technologies. Ricciardi’s work has been recognized internationally, receiving numerous awards including the AIA NY New Practice Award, Design Miami Visionary Award, Fast Company Design Award, and was a finalist for the MOMA/PS1 YAP. Their built projects range from residential and commercial work to public pavilions and installations and has been exhibited at The Museum of Modern Art in New York, MAXXI in Rome, The Art Institute of Chicago, and The Chicago Architecture Biennial. Formlessfinder has also published the book “Formless Manifesto” with Lars Muller Publishers and articles in Perspecta and the Harvard Design Journal. Ricciardi holds a Master of Architecture from Princeton University where he was awarded the Suzanne Kolarik Underwood Prize for Design, and is a graduate of the Cooper Union and the Whitney Museum ISP. He has previously worked for the offices of Steven Holl Architects, Stan Allen Architects and James Carpenter Design Associates on the recently completed St. Louis Arch Museum at Gateway Arch National Park.
