The LA Forum will host a Book Launch and panel discussion with UCLA Architecture and Urban Design Lecturer Georgina Huljich and Marcelo Spina of architectural practice PATTERNS at the Vitra Showroom in Culver City.  EMBEDDED documents the work and research of PATTERNS, the award-winning practice founded in Los Angeles in 1999, and includes essays by Spina and Huljich, Todd Gannon (UCLA Ph.D.  2011), and Marcelyn Gow.  Panelists for the discussion include Marcelo Spina, Georgina Huljich, Marcelyn Gow, UCLA Architecture and Urban Design Assistant Professor Michael Osman, and Todd Gannon (UCLA  Ph.D.  2011).
The research and collaborative based approach of the practice seeks to move between digital and material expressions. PATTERNS describes its form-making as driven by digital techniques and advanced computation.
