UCLA

OVERVIEW

This class provides an introduction to architectural design studio culture, and a particular introduction to key themes, conceptual models, and methodological agendas explored throughout the remainder of the Core Studio series at UCLA. An in-depth analysis of architectural form will develop design and critical thinking skills. Students will become familiar with the fundamentals of spatial organization, analyze different principles of proportion, engage in critical and formal analysis of historical precedents and finally develop tools to produce measured drawings and physical models as the currency of exchange between thought and object.
