"The Connected City" Panel Discussion led by Director Eui-Sung Yi

This past Saturday, May 31st, Director Eui-Sung Yi closed out Mayor Garcetti’s #TechLA conference with a panel discussion titled “Connected City”.

Yi made a short presentation at the start of the panel discussion highlighting the history of public space and introducing Seoul as one example of the how technology and the “internet of things” have transformed the physical landscape of the urban environment. All together the panel discussed case studies in Seattle and Barcelona; they argued ideas of political structure and its influence in urban policy making, the benefits of technical standardization throughout the city and county as well as the role of marketing, identity and city branding.

The conversation concluded a day of successful panels and presentations concerning the digital world and the great city of Los Angeles.
