Research-architect, archive-editor and writer, Jiang Jun has been working on urban research and experimental study, exploring the interrelationship between design phenomenon and urban dynamic. He is the founding editor-in-chief of Urban China Magazine (2005-2010), the chief curator of “Street Belongs to … All of Us!” exhibition in China (2008), and project director at the Strelka School in Moscow (2010-2011). His works had been presented in exhibitions including Shenzhen Biennale (2005, 2007, 2011); China Contemporary (2006), Kassel Documenta (2007). Currently he is an associate professor at Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, and a visiting fellow at the ESRC Centre of Oxford University (2011-2012). Jiang Jun will discuss the methodology of a database and think tank, through the examining the cases of Urban China as a movement, a magazine and a platform and Modern China as the driving force and effect of Urban China.
