Richard Weinstein, former dean of the Graduate School of Architecture and Urban Planning and professor in the Department of Architecture and Urban Design passed away on February 24.
For those of you who had the honor of knowing, working and studying with him, you know what a remarkable leader, colleague, teacher, mentor and friend he was.
Richard was a believer in the fundamental role of architecture, urban design and the arts at UCLA. His deeply humanistic belief in architecture, urban design, and the arts and their role on a university campus and the world, helped shape the campus and community that we all value today.
His many contributions to the field and achievements at UCLA are in the obituary, which can be found here.
