A.UD Competes in LA2050
A.UD Competes in LA2050 and Needs Your Vote!
Voting deadline: Wednesday, April 17th at NOON
The UCLA Architecture and Urban Design is in the running for up to $200,000 to build out two public-oriented research projects that come out of cityLAB and A.UD faculty: The Backyard Homes project is a flexible, low-cost housing prototype based on novel building technology. Designed in collaboration with Lecturer Kevin Daly of Daly Genik Architects, a full scale unit will be built for public viewing in the Hammer Museum courtyard. HYPO-PARK is a public-private venture led by Adjunct Associate Professor Roger Sherman of Roger Sherman Architecture and Urban Design to develop a new type of small-scale, health-focused public park. It will replace former gas stations and similar lots as we enter a post-oil world.
You can only vote for one project, but please logon and support one of these projects to ensure our success! It only takes a moment and up to ten awards of $100,000 will be given out so both projects may receive funding. The awards would bring exciting new opportunities, work, and prestige to A.UD. You can vote by registering on the site through Facebook, or by creating an account with your email address. Tell your friends and vote today!
