Adjunct Professor

Alan Locke founded IBE Consulting Engineers in 1999, choosing letters that stand for “Ideas for the Built Environment.” His intent in establishing the practice was to forge close collaborations with architects as an early and full member of the building team. IBE has grown into a nationally recognized firm—with more than 50 employees, and project offices in Paris, France and Mexico City, Mexico. His current and recent projects include Cedars-Sinai, Advanced Health Sciences Pavilion, in Los Angeles; the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, Marine Ecosystem Sensing, Observation and Modeling (MESOM) Laboratory at UC San Diego; and the City of Los Angeles, District 9 Neighborhood City Hall. Alan has previously taught at Sci-Arc and the University of Southern California, Los Angeles.
